James Carvalho passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018 with his loving wife Elnora Carvalho by his side. A longtime resident of Lincoln RI, James was born at Notre Dame Hospital in Central Falls RI on January 29, 1947. He was the loving son of the late Charles Carvalho and the late Emily Augustino Carvalho of Pawtucket RI.

James is survived by his son Derek Carvalho and his wife Suzana Carvalho of Cumberland and daughter Alyssa Reis and husband Joseph Reis also of Cumberland. He leaves three wonderful grandchildren Alexia, Austin and Chayse. He also leaves behind two sisters Maryann Lopes of Seekonk MA as well as Cynthia Vincelette of Rehoboth MA.

James was a graduate of Rhode Island College where he obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. James worked in the travel industry and retired from US Airways at TF Green Airport in 2002. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cumberland RI where he sat on the finance committee for several years and also taught CCD classes to parish youth.

Among his very many fond memories James loved to travel the world with his wife and children and loved to spend time with his extended family and many friends. James cherished hosting dinners with his wife, children and his grandchildren, the apples of his eye.

His funeral will be on Monday, October 29th at 8:30am from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 - 8pm. Relatives and friends are invited.
